SPINNING OR BAIT CASTING

I use Power Pro on all my Spirex spinning reels and it works like a charm. Never really had an issue with it. Now for me, Spider Wire was a totally different issue. It got tangled just about every 30 casts. I switched over to PowerPro about a year ago and love the stuff. One thing that I do is when I am putting it on I spray silcone or wd40 in a rag until it is wet with it and then run the line through that as I spool it on. Makes it very smooth and seems to cast better. Be sure and check your knots using braid, lots of the ones you normally use won't hold because of it being slippery.

THANKS FISHIN FOOL. JUST WENT AND GOT SOME POWER PRO 50LB. TEST AND SOME PLINE FLOROCLEAR 12LB. TEST FOR MY LEADER. I'M HOPING THAT IS A GOOD COMBO. NOW IF I CAN JUST LEARN HOW TO TIE ONE OF THESE DURN KNOTS. I'M READING STEP BY STEP AND I'M STILL LOSTemoBang .I THINK I'M GONNA GO WITH THE UNI TO UNI OR ALBRIGHT. ANYBODY HAVE A BETTER IDEA AS TO WHAT KNOT I COULD OR SHOULD USE.

JUST WONDERING IF POWER PRO CAN BE USED ON A SPINNING REEL OR ONLY BAIT CASTING. I'VE HEARD IT WORKS ON BOTH. I'VE ALSO BEEN TOLD IT STICKS ON A SPINNING REEL. THANKS

"Welcome to CFF"

I thing you have it backwards. I use Powerpro on several spinning reels and I think it out preforms mono greatly on spinning. No memory lets your line shoot off the spool without slapping the guides on the rod.

However on a baitcaster, the spool is actually throwing the line off as it spins. Powerpro has a tendence to cut in to itself on the spool. Especially when you are cranking in with restance on your line. The problem is that when the reel spool is spinning trying to throw off the line, the power pro it embedded into the line on the spool and is pulled around the spool. It is actually pulling against itself hence slowing down the lure flight. The spool is then throwing off more line faster than the lure is carrying it out. <<< HSALKCAB <<< (backlash).

i used the p-pro for the first time today. it took me two days to figure out a knot to join the p-pro and p-line.emoBang i must say i like it. it casts much better than i thought it would and has all the sensitivity that everyones been screaming about. hopefully this new line will slow down my loss of lures.

What knot did you end up learning to tie. There is another thread on here that describes to Slim Beauty knot. That knot in the one to use.

I have yet to find a better combo for sheer casting distance than 20lb PowerPro on a spinning reel. Frogs and poppers sail so far on the cast that you have to hit the brakes to avoid overshooting your target. The bloodknot or Uni-2-Uni works best for combining two lines of differing composition or diameter.

Which knot is displayed on the insert with PowerPro line? That is the one I am recommending
