Has anyone used the optima batterys before, Or any other spiral cell battery before?? They are quite a bit more exspensive , And as it seems I will be in the market for a new battery in the neer future, I was wondering are they worth the extra money and peace of mind of not having a dead battery, Dont mind spending extra money if they are worth it , Or should I just stick with a regular "good" name brand battery,,,
Thanks in advance.

Not worth the double price PJ. I have one for my cranking battery. It also runs my sonars and livewell. On a long day of fishing I have to jump it off. Go with an Interstate or one of the Wal-Mart MAXX marine batteries.

There are lots of guys here with opinions on batteries. The subject comes up a few times a year. PJ I am sure there is a lot of material to read if you do a search.

i have a 12 volt trolling motor on my boat. I used to go through a battery a year following the manufacturer's guide lines ....after buying 3 batteries in 3 years, i bit the bullet and bought an Optima. I have had excellent luck with it. i have had it 3 years now and it is still going.

Some have said they do not like them but i am a fan.
