I was fishing the rip rap bank down at the dam this morning with a blade bait when a group of buzzards decided to go on a bombing run straight at me. The first five or six peeled off before they got too close but the last one didn't. when he was right in my face, I whacked him with my 7' Powell Inferno SB rod.
He hit the water behind the boat and sat there for a couple minutes before flying off. Powell's are one tough rod as it didn't hurt it at all. I decide to make a move to the back of Booker T and fish a buzzbait over the submerged grass. Half way there I must have caught a coot napping as I was running about 45 and when he tried to fly off the trolling motor nailed him. He tumbled by my head and I guess he ended up being turtle food.
Is the pic below a small mouth or mean mouth? First one I've ever caught.
