I like one to be between 6'10" and 7 ' and a medium action.

The one I use is 7'2" med. hvy. with a fast tip. I had Joe make it for me. It has a shorter split grip handle. The shorter handle doesnt slap my forearm and I can still cast with both hands. The fast tip will let you cast a Sammy or Spook a long long ways.
