I'm relatively new to the spoon fishing. I've jigged a few smaller spoons in the winter time over top of some fish but as far as summer time spooning I'm a rookie.
Couple of questions for you more experienced in this field.
1. Should I attach a swivel to the split ring on the spoon to avoid line twist?
2. Is it better to jerk and reel the slack or just reel about 4 or 5 times really fast to give it action?
3. would you throw a flutter spoon before you get a school fired up or is it better after they are already fired up and feeding?
Sorry if these seem like common sense questions just new to a flutter spoon and any tips I can get from someone that's more familiar with them I'll gladly listen and try. Thanks fellas.
Oh and anything else that might help me in this area even if it's not one of my questions would be great
