Spoons

I have just recently started fishing spoons on a regular basis. I have talked to some people that say they fish these at night also. Do you bass guys have luck on them and night or mainly just during the day.

during the day only. its been my findings that in order for a spoon to work, you need the sun to be reflecting off it

However the spoons do flutter, making them easily heard by the lateral line.

see I knew it helped to be sunny but the flutter puts off a lot of vibration.

I have caught some fish on them at night jigging them vertically. I got a 10lb blue at night jigging a 3/4 oz spoon. The larger spoons have as much vibration as a thumping colorado blade so the fish can find them easily and with very little light the fish can see the spoons at night. I would think due to the fish moving more at night a bait that covers more water would be better than jigging spoons.
