Copy of the original "Dream Tournament" which was sponsored by Wal-mart that paid out over $44,000.00 in cash plus prizes and drew 208 boats in the last one held. Some of you may remember it it was the real deal.

I remember. It was the best chance for amateurs to win big money! Times free-press was a big part too.

The Chattanooga free times press was separate but held during the same 4 or 5 years that the real "Dream Tournament" was held, The Free Times Press was also was a big deal well run Tournament that was run by Preacher Reeves who also help ed run the first couple of Dream Tournaments . Praecher Reeves had formerly also been the president of the CBA and knows everyone. Precher also ran the Chattanooga Free Times Press well enough to get it over 200 boats as well.

Ahh yes, I remember the original Dream Tournaments. The last one especially, "The Wal-Mart Dream Tournament V" February 2004 paid- $12000.00 1st place, $5000.00 2nd place, $3000.00 3rd place, $2000.00 4th place.... and very well organized. Thanks for all your efforts Tom to make them all a big success.

You know we have the resources and the people to put something like that together again some day but it takes a lot of folks working together. We had arround 30 people work to put the dream tournament together and I know Preacher had a pretty strong staff doing the Chattanooga Free Times Press Tournament. Any way I just think as good of a lake as we have it would be nice to have a couple a year like that to fish. I think when you can pay out that much money and 30 places, the amatures get a shot at it as well. One of my favorite parts was when you look out across Chester Frost at dark about 20 minutes before day break and see over 200 boats worth of red, green, and white lights lit up. Maybe some big company would some day be looking for a ligitemate tax write off and a bunch of us could go for it with a charity in mind. emoToast
