great job everyone i'm envious looking at all those great spots from WORK. be there next saturday at harrison though. congrats to the winners.

Me and Fishing Fire enjoyed seeing everyone again and seeing that big ole spot that won big fish. He was nice one! Looks like someone made out with some good eating for tonight!

Looks like everyone had a blast...and for a good cause, at that! Hey BBass, you forgot to include FA's results. There is just a blank by his name.

i used the same pointer 80 (tennessee shad) all day to get my limit. Not much of a limit tho. I did however get a double catch today. Largemouth on the rear hook and a very small spot on the front hook. Had to take a pic of this one...

You know it's good to come in second. Which would have been in the money, in a no money tournament. emoBang But it was well worh it.

Things i learnt from this tournament.

1) You dont have to have live bait. (Like Mr.Wiskers)
2) You dont have to spend the night before at Wal-Mart looking for secret baits. (Like Mr.Wiskers)
3) You dont have to stay at the same bridge pileing for the majority of the tournament. (Like Mr.Wiskers)
4) You should never try to intimidate people online cause it will always backfire. ( Like Mr.Wiskers)
5) You need to catch quality fish to get second place. (Unlike Mr. Wiskers)

We caught all out fish on artifical bait. Caught the majority on a white Sweet Beaver. Aslo caught them on a white Chatterbait and Crankbait. My dad had a great time. BBass thanks for the relaxed morning. This was a great little tournament. No pressure at all!!!!

Well now that Skeeter is done, here is AlvinC and mine report.

We started off fishing the bridge pillings downtown using shiners. Boy did we kill them! We both had our limit by 9AM and by 10AM we had put 22 spots in the boat. The only problem was they were all small but it was too much fun to leave them for bigger fish. We finally did and rode down to Mocasun Bend to look for better fish. None to be found. Skeeter had already pick the bend clean.emoLaugh

We ended up catching a few more on artificals and our final count was 30 bass in the boat and another 10 or so lost on the way to the boat. 25 of the 30 were caught on shiners. 29 of the fish were spots and Alvin caught one little smallie around 9 inches.

Alvin and I had a blast and it was good to meet everyone afterwards. I look foward to the next one. Congrats to Whisler for kicking Skeeter's butt all over the Riverpark. It was a joy to watch.emoBigsmile

PS. The Wal-Mart thing was just to get you going. I bought smallmouth stuff for the after Spot Fight fishing.

FA, if you want a good spot guide I will take you on the next Spot Fight. I heard Billy is almost as bad a MB.emoPoke

I almost forgot. Hey Bbass, don't forget in your report to tell everyone what you caught your fish on and who showed you how to fish it. emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh

I was thinking opposite of that Micheal. Fat Albert is a GREAT guide...got me 3rd...(thats one "spot above you there"

) Heck, Skeeter got us both after all this weeks picking on him..LOL

NO JOKE! I don't mean just when I picked him up...I mean all day. (until weigh in)

We started out fishing a RipRap Run and only managed 1Spot, and 1 12-15 pound Drum! Thats was a first good Drum for me and I loved the pull on the line.

Fired up and ran south to Mr W's "spots" and nailed all my I weighed in. Pig'nJig Bitsy Bug with #11 Uncle Josh was my only bait all day.!(gotta thank Mr W for schooling I took from him on these things. He should be proud of student.

.LOL!)
Albert got a real nice Smallie and I got my 2nd Smallie in my life. Such pretty fish. Spending the day with Al was priceless.

I promised Albert that if I got a tiny one, I'd post a pic....and I did.

Such an awesome guy to get to know better and hang out with. I really look forward to having him on the boat again. Oh....He did mention how much bigger the Spots were down river Mb.

Great seeing everyone again and some new faces. I had a blast and look forward to future Spot Fights!! (maybe we could do a point thing along with it being a benefit next year?)

FA, if you want a good spot guide I will take you on the next Spot Fight. I heard Billy is almost as bad a MB.

Dang, that is pretty harsh Mr Whiskers!

Aint it though! Mean mean mean...shame on you Mr Whiskers! Albert is a Great Guide! LOL

NOTE: Only reason we didnt get MB's Spots was because of 10 pounds of minnows surrounding Mr Whiskers boat!

Just telling it as I heard it.emoAngel

Wish I could have been there. FA couldn't catch any fish because of me calling him every little while to check on his progress!

If everyone agrees it was a good thing, we will setup another one in about a month.

I'm betting this was a FIRST for the State of Tennessee. I hope the idea catches on in other places with overpopulations of spots!!

Thanks to everyone that participated.

Are you serious? In his PJs all day.emoUpsmile Thats funny as heck. Congrats to Whisler on the win, Skeeter glad to see you with a great finish too. FA hasnt said it so I will, yall done GOOD. The clean up donation is a great idea, great job BBass.

W E L L .... I guess it is about time for my comments.... I have taken some abuse and pity. Yes, I did show up in my lounging pants, so what, I was bery, bery comfortable and warm... Seems as if all my winter cold weather gear has gotten smaller for some reason... Strange??? I did have my shorts on under the L pants. It turned out to be very disappointing for me not to catch ANY spots. I could not believe this. However, I had the best partner around and we had a great time... Bbass, was a good student and a quick learner, so I let him catch all the fish. His big DRUM was a line strecher... give us a real thrill. Loved his boat.... lots of room for our tackle and my Wally-World tackle box. We will do it again... my congratulations to the winners.... Oh, GTW,, He only used ONE (1) rod all day...maybe, that was my problem. I show them fish alot of different stuff and followed Madbomber's instruction but got skunked on the spots... but that's ok ...I loved being with a great group of guys... lots of fun at the weigh-in... see you next time and by golly I will do better....emoGeezer

Here is my report...I started out the day having some motor issues which appear to be the EFI Fuel Pump (around 600$$$). What normally takes me 5 minutes to get to took me 35. I finally made it to the area I had been fishing successfully for the past couple of weeks and caught a spot right off the bat. I then caught two largemouths on a spinnerbait and lost one spot right at the boat. I then decided to hit some of the other areas I have been having success on but did not have any luck whatsoever. During my trip downriver one of my tie downs came loose and I lost a quantum PT spinning rod and Energy reel off tha back of the boat...After having a brief burial ceremony, I headed back up river to where I had watched one of the boats catching fish after fish about two hundred yards away from my original spot and pulled up to it; only to have another boat (not in the tourney) come flying down river and pull right up on me and start fishing about ten yards away. I decided than rather start a fight I would just head back up river and fish some rip-rap. I caught one more spot on a spinnerbait and two more fair sized largemouth. I then decided it was time to head back in, leaving plenty of time. For the most part, it was a beautiful but frustrating day when your 175EFI runs like a 9.9hp. I really thought it would be easy to get a limit of spots in an hour with a drop shot or shaky head, since during the last four weeks I had caught a limit of 12inch spots in the same place I started out. Unfortunately for me, the fish were not stacked in like they had been. Congrats to all who caught a ton of fish. I also want to give Kudo's to FA and his pajamas, who is always willing to help the single angler get in the water. It is always appreciated. I really wish I could have stayed around and chatted with everyone but I am in the midst of a large domain migration at work and had to get in and work on it. Hope to make it this weekend...
