Took Neighbor Hal out on the river to collect some data for the Oct TWRA meeting. Started about 11:30 AM and fished until about 6:30 PM. Caught 30 spots total, no largemouth or Smallmouth. Had a couple of spots around 12". All others were shorter. Brought 10 home and fileted them. Nothing Picture-worthy.

Caught most around Moccassin Bend. Caught some on TN Shad Bandit 200 (HaL). I caught most of mine on a Smallie Sweet Beaver in green goby color on a 1/4 oz jig head. That Sweet Beaver is a Spot Killer!!! Also caught a couple on a white fluke, thanks to Paulj.

If you want to take a kid fishing, there is nothing better than going after Spots on River Rip-Rap.

Remember, I'm trying to show the TWRA that the population of SMALL largemouth and Smallmouth is way down. So when you fish the river, Keep track of numbers and size!! We can make a difference!!!

Cool report MB.

Say, I can hit the water around 9:30 tomarrow morning...wanna collect some more data?

Great report, MB. Have you tried the Sweet Beaver in a laminate pattern of junebug and green pumpkin? It does exceptionally well in stained water.

No, so far only the green goby and the silvery white color, whatever it's called. They didn't like the white one.

Oh, does everyone realize the tail is molded to pull apart into twin tails. I didn't at first.

I wonder who showed you those Sweet BeaversemoRolleyes

Good deal on the fishing, too bad you didn't get into any brownies. Bout time to start drifting shiners ain't it???

I never divulge my sources!! Let's just say I surround myself with smart people!

I like to wait until Oct. to start dragging minners!

Great report MadBomber. I was sort of hoping to see a photo of your secret spot. There is a lot of rip-rap on the river side. Actually both sides of the river in a lot of places. LOLemoGeezer ;)

Good report Madbomber! I need to drive down there near Mocissian Bend in the boat...Less fishing pressure there. Whenever I drive on I-24 past there it always looks like some GREAT water to be fishing. I have only been there once and it is a good spot.
