Sorry for the late report, been busy at work, which is a good thing right??

We had a Yank from Maryland come down to shoot a little video for an upcoming series hes working on, so we tried to catch some good fish for the camera. We started out just after daylight on Saturday fishing a ditch adjacent to the main channel. We were using LARGE chunks of cut skipjack for bait and anchored at the top of the ditch. We had a rod go down almost before we got finished setting up, Wade grabbed it and new it was a very strange fight....turn's out to be a PIG of a striper! Im about to say "dont horse it" and it came unbuttoned at the boat. Wade was sick, I was sicker....at least its all on video. LOL

I wont bore you with every fish detail, but we caught fish at several locations, most near some type of structure or water dumping into the main channel. Saturday we ended with 7 fish I think with the largest being 32lbs, and having a 30lb leader break not once, but twice during a fight. The last fish being right before dark and by far the best fish of the trip. Heath brought a crappie rod and caught a few crappie and yella bass while we played around with the kitty cats. One was quite good at about 11.5"

Water temps were about 48 I think and current was ripping at 107K.

Sunday Heath and I could not get the big fish we lost off our minds. So back out we went for a 3 hour tour. Hit the water at noon, had a the first fish by 12:05 and three fish in under 40 minutes. We took his girlfriends 14 yr old Son Brandon, and although now too cool to admit it, he was having fun with the feesh. The best fish were 26, 29, 37, and we finished the day with a fat 39lber.

All in all, I cant complain, we have had good action, and if a man wants eaters, good grief they are all over these large baits.....a man could down-size and really whack some right now.
