Hit the dam with a buddy last night for a few hours to see what would bite. Threw the white Foley spoon the whole time and as usual had a blast. We caught at least 40 skip-jacks and about 20 white bass, a couple were studs.
My best string was 11 casts in a row with a skip, lost the 12th fish.
Looking forward to a little more flow to get the white bass fired up down there.
One item of note was watching a guy slam his nice Nitro boat into the dam and get tossed into the 49* water. He swam to the turbin gate track and climbed up while his buddy tried multiple times to get the boat maneuvered into the turbin to get him back aboard...it seemed like an eternity to watch, I bet it felt a lot longer for the shivering angler. Richard Simms was right next to me to document the ordeal and we both were about the step in to get this guy loaded if it went on any longer, but would have had to push the bass boat our of the way to do it. While fishing the discharge is generally safe with such low flows, PLEASE wear your PFD when doing it as this guy did. Also with with flat deck boats like bass boats, its extremely easy to get launched overboard, keep your head in the game. Richard made a post with pictures last night located here if you want to see more.
EDIT: Richard JUST made a post here on CFF as I wrote this report. New link added. http://www.chattanoogafishingforum.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=87846&posts=1
