Well my Redtail was able to recover from getting west nile this year and is now doing alot better. Good enough that I have been able to hunt him the past few weeks. Although the leaves have still been pretty heavy I just wanted to get him out and see how he was doing. Went out Tues and this afternoon to really hunt though. Tues he had a few chases but the squirrels got into some thick leaves and the bird lost them. Today he had one by the tail as it tried to get away and was able to get in a hole and pull away from my bird, then l took him to a different area and within 5 minutes saw another squirrel and he chased him in 3 different trees before I was able to catch up after tripping over a log running to get there. One time the squirrel made it to a nest and my bird crashed it so hard he lost him. Eventually though the bird gave up and tried eyeing a duck before I called him down out of the tree. Between hunts though my apprentice was out with his bird and she had some fun chasing a few squirrels before getting her first kill on one today. Dont have any pics from today, sorry guys. Landon

Landon that's awesome. Sorry to hear about the West Nile. Didn't know that. I mean, what a tough life your bird has had the past year! Losing a toe and West Nile??!?!?! Glad you got out and really good to read your posts. Keep 'em coming. I for one enjoy the read. Glad to see you are passing on the sport!

Great reading, I have heard of this sport but never knew anyone that done it. Send more reports with pictures if you can, I remember the pics from last year.
