I took on the job of replacing my steering cable and box to save some money and believe it or not all went well. I have a 15 ft with a Yamaha 115 on it. I did have to get the help from my two teenage boys and wife. But the job is not that bad. The only thing that worried me was having to remove the motor, thats where my boys came in. We held the motor while my wife pushed the cable in the motor. It now works fine. No leaks and I can now steer with a finger instead of both hands. This is not that bad of a job on a small boat. I didn't have much of a choice, I had to do it myself, the cable was $170.00. Maybe I should start working weekends so I would have more money..... Wait nevermind, thats crazy talk.

Good Job. I wanted to do my own but went ahead and bit the bullet. Had to pay $460 to get both cables replaced. They did have to remove the motor though.
