Steering problem

I have recently developed some severe slack in my steering. I found a small amount of fluid on the slide bar??? at the motor, not an excessive amount. Any ideas? '93 Stratos 201 Pro XL w/ '93 Johnson 200HP Gt Venom

If hydraulic steering sounds like the seals have blown and has air is the system. Can compres air not fluid.

Yeah, James, it is hydraulic. How costly is the fix? Thanks, Al

If that is what it is......If a teleflex seastar the seal kit (with tool) alone is $130, fluid is $19.50 a quart. If the cylinder is damaged the cylinder assy is $621. You might want to check with Fish and fun. They may stock the parts and can give you a quote. Pretty common system. Later!
