Would someone give me a step by step to get the pictures onto the forum at entry time. I would like to have my pictures bigger than the little ones which show up when I resize them to -100kb.
The internet resizer does a nice job but I can't get it to put them over to the forum at the size that some people can transfer them. on some of the little
ones you can't really see the picture they're so small.
TIA..................Hal

Hal...can you email me one of the larger pics? Let me look at it with my program and I'll tell you what you need to do.

I've found that I was taking pics with the setting on the camera too fine. By using fewer megapixels, I can post a decent size picture without exceeding the 100kb limit. Try it!

Exactly...lower the resolution on your camera...I never have to re-size pics any more.

An example...straight off the microSD card in my phone to the computer:

Mallard - those big pics cause, for some of us, the screen to be too wide to view and read lines without moving the screen left.

Just pointing it out...

OK, sorry I will try to keep my picture posting to a minimum. But it does make the fish look bigger.

BackOnTheWater's picture above seems to be about the right size to me. There is plenty of
detail to that and even a 15 inch monitor should show all of the picture.
There is one other thing that I have noticed, when people type in their comments, if you don't hit the
return key inside the box you make the line too long and the viewer has to scroll back and forth
to read the message even with a 19 inch monitor. I'm sure it's even more difficult with a 15 inch
monitor.
Just a thought, no "flames"!...................Hal

Guys I am sorry for any inconvience I have caused with my big pictures, I am a farmer by trade, I am just glad I finally figured out how to turn the computer on. No more pictures from me.

I'm lucky to have a 10 year old photo software package called PhotoImpact. It allows me to resize and adjust the quality of the picture.

When I run across a picture that I have to scroll to see all of it, it is wider than 800 pixels. I have found that 640 pixels wide is ideal for posting. Many digital cameras will have a setting for that.

More than once I have used my moderator privileges to resize pictures others have posted. Here's what mallard's picture looks like at 640 X 480

I would rather have to scroll than not see a pic. One trick I like to use, is to crop the pics as tight as I can, for one, it makes the picture more "viewable" by only having the important "stuff" in it. It also makes it a little bit smaller, while retaining a good size on the screen. When I get over that way to fish with ya, I will show you the program I use, and you will be amazed how simple it is.

On a side note, I was also one of those that just could not get a pic to resize...then I couldnt get it to resize to my liking, now I have it figured out. It only took me about 8 months!!

Hey Mallard I will gladly scroll to get to see a nice mess of crappie like that one -- keep them coming please.

Hey Hal, If you are interested there is a small free program its called FastStone 2.5 easy program to run you can drag and click or go to specific file and then choose pics. normally i set to desktop easier for me then i put setting to 70%.reduction. do Google search and choose the download, I just like not uploading my photos to another site first, then putting them on CFF

hope this helps some one. James
