I went to Weiss w/ a friend last Thursday and got to see the benefits of the Stick Jacket first hand. We took his boat, and I couldn't help but notice when he opened his rod box all the rods he had in the box..... He had atleast 20 rods in one box and 10 or so in the other, all had stick jackets.... I was amazed at how easy it was for him to take his rods out of the box, he could get the rod off the bottom of the pile out as easy as the rod on the top.

I have a 2006 20ft Triton and I absolutely hate(d) the rod organizer in my boat, I've actually broken rod tips getting rods out of the box, I was looking to make a change. So when I got home I took my rod tube out of my boat. I purchased 10 Stick Jackets at the store and having used them a few times I can say that they are well worth trying out. Now I'm not a fan of bringing 25 rods w/ me to the lake LOL, but now atleast I can get my rods out of the box easily and I can tote a few extra's as well.

The only down side to the Stick Jacket is the price, they're $7 each. That's not outrageous but at the same time to cover every rod it does get expensive.... Anybody else use them yet?

I think that it would make sense, when you purchase a rod, to go ahead and spend the $7 to get these. You are going to be paying, anywhere from $60-$200 on a rod. Wouldn't it be worthe $7, as an extra insurance policy on those rods? I think so.

I haven't used them, personally, but I have seen them, and I have friends that have used them in the past, and they are well worth the money.

I have a bunch of rod socks.  They are a nylon sleeve with an elastic strap.  BPS @ $3.99 ea.  They keep the rod tips from getting tangled up in the locker. page 163 in the 2006 master catalog.

<font color="#ff0033">Buy one of these things and if you wife can sew, she could make um for you and should not cost very much..However, sewing is getting to be a lost art...My BW has a sewing machine that she ain't touched in 20 years....  and If I want her to know that I bad-mouthed her, I think I should be the one to tell her...  the sleeves are a good idea and they work...
