Stiff fGear shifter

I don't know the technical name for it but when I went to put it in gear it was a lot harder. I just got my boat back from fish n fun on Friday and when I went to the lake Sat to put it in gear I noticed it was a lot harder to shift. Tthe gears didn't grind or anything and it ran great. They had just put a new injector on it, number 2 injector had gone bad. Anyway I called them because before they had it it whifted great. The boat is only two years old and it has a 250 e-tech on it. I fished all day with it and it didn't get any better or worse. WhenI got it home I put some grease on the rod but didn't really seem to help. This was their recommendation. Any Ideas what coulod cause this?

Obviously, they did something to cause the binding. TAKE IT BACK.

That can happen in cold weather or if you have your motor trimmed up, is it hard to shift after it warms up?

It was a lot better this Sat. Not sure why though, maybe the grease I put on it helped.
