Still having an idle problem and I have look at everything. I have cleaned the carbs 3 times and it is still not running good when i am at an idle I guess you would say it is called a cat sneeze I am told. It runs great other than that. It has new bulb and fuel lines, it is firing on all 6 cyl and not at the same time. I do not have to pump the bulb after it dies, just choke it. Any ideas on how I can fix it.

Sounds alot like what mine is doing. I have an Evinrude 150 Took it to Wrenchin last year and he gave it a good workin over. After trying numerous things he decided that it was electrical. He replaced the Powerpak which fixed it for a month, then it started doing it again. I have not gotten back with him on the issue this year. I hear he is a busy man these days. Send him an IM he is a great mechanic and super guy

BTW...mine spits and sputters (sometimes) at idle and sometimes dies. Runs great when your running down the lake I have learned to live with it

Ya I have talked to him and he told me to do a few things but they all where ok so he said it could be a powerpak. He is busy and cant look at it so I am just going to run it till he can look at it or I can fix it. It runs good at fast idle or when going to the next fishing spot so cant be much.

I recently had the same problem with a 115 Johnson, turns out I had a cracked fuel bowl, can't say this is what yours is but it's something to check, if that's what it is find one from a junker, cause it's a dealer item and they want many taco's to pay for it. Mike

Yeah it sounds like it could be slight intermittent air leak...I had some of the same symtoms on an older Johnson 115 and it was a fiber-type washer was missing that went under the screw where you access the lo -speed jets in the carbs

If you pump your fuel bulb and notice any fuel leakage around the carbs, drain screw or jets then this is the problem, check around the sides and the bottom of the fuel bowl for signs of leakage. Also I have found that if you have removed your trim pin and the motor tucks to far under the transmom that an OMC product will load up with to much fuel, smoke and will not idel well at all. Mike

I checked for any fuel leakage around the carbs and the jets and drain screw. and their was not.
It idels the same when it is trimed up or down.
