Just returned from most rewarding tournament I have ever fished. The Wounded Warriors group invited me to be a boat provider for the tournament on Wednesday. Jason Letterman was my co-angler. Jason served in Iraq for 3 tours, on last tour his vehicle was hit by an IED, severely wounded, losing both legs. However ,this does not stop him from living the fullest life he can. Jason currently resides at Walter Reed Rehab center in Washington ,DC with many additional Wounded veterans. The Wounde Warriors organazation provides quality events for a number of veterans. These guys were flown from Walter Reed to Huntsville , Ala. by privite transport, provided room & board @ Jamison Inn in Scottsboro, treated to a fishing tournament and other events @ Guntersville Lake. Event was held at Goosepond, we fished a full 8 hour event. Jason had brought his personnel rod and reel (Zebco 33 & short rod).....I was courious???????? Jason caught 1st 2.5 lbr an continiued to catch, we caught around 30 total for the day, ended up with 14.84 lb , enough to claim 2nd place, 1st was 18 with 6lb big bish. There were no o's and all these guys were HEROS emoUSA emoUSA . They were treated to a dinner & awards last evening as The Goosepond restuarant where they recieved their prizes & awards. Asou will be able to see in pictures, these Warriors deserve our respect & appreciation for what has been given for you & I to be able to do as we continue in the US of A........let'em know they are appreciated. As a Viet-Nam veteran myself, I was privileged to have been a part of this event, I may have even enjoyed a bit more than I should have. Needless to say, it was a GREAT event emoGeezer emoUSA emoApplause
