emoThumbsup Got to make my maiden voyage with my new hip today. Went to Parksville, knew ramp was clear. Water starting to muddy up quite heavy after the rain last nite.

Was a good trip, can do necessities, just a bit slow at this point due to hip.

Bite was slooooow. Only had 4 for the afternoon, caught 2 bout 2lb each with 2 other hits.. Water @ 40 degree, some ice in backs of pockets. Found some warmer water near 6ft deep @ 43 degree & this is area we caught. Plastics & traps were all we threw. Main reason for trip was to test my ability in the boat & trolling motor operation...all is good.

Glad to hear you are doing so good. Please wear you lifejacket at all times in this cold weather. If you stumble and fall out of the boat it could end badly. Take it slow and enjoy the trip. Good luck and tight lines.
