Fished South Holston this past week in prep for BFL on Saturday. emoScratch Always finding new areas, techniques, water in depths of 230ft trying to find a way to get a jerk on other end. Had a decent prefishand went in Saturday with a 2 piece plan.

Started AM with stick baits sitting in 25-40 fow and throwing into bluff walls, smallies would hit within few feet. Most were short, occasionally a keeper would connect. Had my 1st keeper by 7:30, co-angler had 1 also then it was shorts for a while.

Next plan...Shakey heads 3/16th& ringer,in 30-350fow throwing again into bluff walls dropping onto ledges of rock. Suddenly co-angler starts to make funny sounds, looked around & he had his rod tip in water & it looked like it would make a u-turn. I got the net & he put his 2nd keeper, yep, smallie, in the live well. I hook up with a short. Few minutes later I get a swimmer, set the hook, 6lb test, nice smallie in the box, now we each have 2..30 minutes later, I get another swimmer
emoGoofy . You can see bout 15ft deep & all I see is big flashing going on & my light line is tight & I am feeding out to deeper water. Brandon , emoApplause and has net in hand, its coming up, jump, wow, big smallie, next jump & Brandon slapping my back & saying huge monster. Nice smallie I agree, unfortunately it did not survive, when weighed it weighed 5.25lb.

I had 11plus with 3, Brandon had 5plus with 2. My monster was good for big fish of tournament.

Jeff Knight won with 17plus lb, 91 boats, good weather, water light stain to clear & 67-70 degree, lake is full....... emoGeezer emoUSA
