On my route to work, I have seen a really neat looking Stratos Center Console boat with a tunnel-hull. I wanted to see a better picture of the hull design, but I cant find a thing on-line about this boat. It is definatly newer if not new....I know they have made some center consloes in years past, but very few, and none that I can find with this hull feature. Anyone knwo about this? The curiosity is killing me.</p>

Never heard of a Stratos Center Console. They did experiment with tunnels years ago, but they didn't go over well. Tunnels are great at high speeds in a straight line as they are easier to drive - they suck when you want to turn though. If it looks like a new one it must be something experimental. Maybe we'll see it at the boat show. (We used to laugh at the owners and called the outside sponsons "trainng wheels"!! We always felt it took real men to drive at high speeds battling chine walk all the way with our more the norm pad vee's!)

Tunnel hull center consoles are usually made for flats fishing(inshore coastal lagoons). They are designed to run in less than 2 feet of water. Most boat companies market their salt water boats seperately from their fresh water models.
