Don't waste your money...yet another mass-produced, cheap piece of junk from the folks at Strike King. I threw one at the Guntersville Tx and noticed that it wanted to lay on its side at a fast retrieve. I assumed it was due to grass sticking to the line tie and shrugged it off. Threw it again at Booker T. and guess what...no weeds and it still wanted to plane out. Tied on another and it did the same thing, even after adjusting the eyelet. Needless to say they will be going back to their home at BassPro and will soon be found in the bargain bin.

i have bought several but have yet to use them? most of strike kings products do produce good for me though. the shape and colors look real good to me on these baits. i have had lures in the past that did what you're saying and some were just junk and some you just had to retreive at a different speed than what we are used to. did you try and really slow it down? like slow rolling a spinnerbait? i'll tie one on and try it in a few days, come to think of it i think i did that off my dock the day they arrived and if i'm remembering correctly mine were good? i'll try it again.

That's really weird. I had heard good things about them so I bought a shad colored one. My brother used it for the first time the other night, I was using an XR50. He boated a ton of fish on it. I caught quite a few on it during the night tx. I wonder if you got a bum lure. I still love the xr50's though.

Davo, thanks for bringing this thread back up...I have been meaning to and forgot. I got some more of the Redeyes in chrome/blue and they not only fish great but catch fish. I must have received a batch that should not have passed QC.

The XR50 is still the all time best of the best!

I can't speak to the redeye shad, but it seems like most of the strike king lures I've tried haven't been that great. I had a small billed crankbait of theirs that absolutely would not run true. I've never had a lure behave like that before.

There is supposed to be a 3/4oz Red Eye Shad coming out sometime. I think they are really good, just like XR50's better.

Once you've thrown (and caught bass) on the xr50 and xrk75, it's hard NOT to find fault with other brands. I've been impressed with everything from Xcalibur/Hi-Tek Tackle I've used.

I agree with Jason. The Red Eye Shad is Ok, but I am hung up on the XR50 and KRK75. I have also caught alot of fish on the Sexy shad series 3,4 and 5; but seem to have to do quite a bit of adjusting...

I think they are great , but I have been fishing them slow. Biggest fish around 7 lbs.

I live off the red eye shads, but they suck in the grass. I switch to Super Spots and XR's. The red eye shads fall nice and wobbly if you watch them. Sometimes I will get some decent strikes on the fall. I just had to buy two more, a 5lb+ smaller ran away with my last one in Watts Bar..
