Well my buddy Jeff came from out of state to visit from our Marine Corps days 6 years ago and I had to get him out to try bowfishing. One thing I've learned is bowfishing is more addicting than crack, go one time and you'll be hooked. Well after weeks and weeks of me talking it up to him we were finally headed to the lake. Everything gassed up and ready to go. Put in at CFP just before dark climbed in the boat turn the key and nothing. Battery is dead just enough to click. emoBang Dang should have checked that before we left the house.
Oh well minor set back switched the cables to the trolling battery cranked up the motor and then switched them back. Figured it would charge enough to start it again after we ran to our first spot. Started trolling the bank looking for carp and gar with no sightings while it was still daylight. Saw probably 20 bass though some 4 and 5 lbs one went atleast 8lbs or better it was the biggest bass I've ever seen. I'll message you the locations, starting bid 20 dollars emoParty
Ok now its getting dark time to fire up the generator and get the lights on. Fired it up and went back to the front of the boat. After about a minute the lights started pulsating with the motor of the genny like it does when its about to run out of fuel. emoScratch I know its full I just filled it up on our way to the water. Climb to the back to see fuel running out the bottom of the generator. Ugh emoRedface Off to walmart to get some high temp silicone to fix a gasket at the fuel bowl. Get back and make the repair and its still leaking fuel. A nice gentleman fishing on the dock at the ramp told me to check the float inside the bowl, it might be stuck letting the fuel fill up and leak out the overflow hole. Took it apart messed witht he float put it back together and we are in business. Check the clock and its midnight already.
Set out again and try to find some fish to stick. With all the grass it made it challenging to find the carp. We only saw a few skinny gar less than a foot and 4 or 5 carp and only shot one ha ha emoBadLanguage . All and all made the most of our trip and had a good time with great company. Gonna try again tomo morning on the Hiwassee where I know where the fish are. Hopefully tomo I will have alot more pics of bigger fish.
