Thought about going to Watts Bar tomorrow. Can anyone point me in the general area for some striper action around Sandy Bottom ramp? Thanks.

I don't know much about that kind of fishing. I think that most of the striper action is below the dam however. I don't know where Sandy Bottom ramp is.

I haven't fished for stripers above the dam either. I used to catch them below the dam. Those reports from the lake sounded like a lot of fun so I thought I would give it a try.

I went Saturday and there were a few in the coves (between Thief Neck cutoff and Shields bar beacon on the right side). Never caught one, but they were still there. I went this morning to find structure for the summer, and didn't see any breaking in the coves below the Boy Scouts camp. Still lots of shad showing on the side imager and on the surface, but nothing breaking to get them. I took Jon the Fishermans advice and got hits on a red/white spinner bait and got hits on the Heddons Swimming Image. It does appear to be dying down a little..

How big are the fisht that you have been catching in the lake? I would expect that there are some good stripers in Chickamauga but it's pretty uncommon to get them in the lake other than at the nuke and that's rare. Do they still stock stripers in Watts Bar on a yearly basis?
