Stripers below Fort Loudon 5-24

I'm working in Knoxville today & tomorrow. I usually stop on the way up and fish a while from the bank below Fort Loudon Dam. I was trying to catch some white bass on ultralight stuff. I didn't any good at all. While fishing I watched a guide boat with NC numbers catching stripers in the 8-15 lb range just about every drift. They were using 6-8 in. long shad. I couldn't tell the particular species of shad. I was there from about 7:00 until 8:00 pm.

sure would be interesting if you caught a large striper on that ultra light stuff....lol

I had heard they were catching them below Ft. Loudon, and they are also catching some good ones below Melton Hill, and it is only 7 or 8 miles from Ft. Loudon on the Clinch river. May have to got try both this weekend since the lake will be crowded.
