Did your flash seem to bother the turtle? I used to spend the last week in June at Jekyll Island every year and they had big signs posted asking people not to use flashlights on the beach and no flash photos - said it disoriented the turtles and they would either not nest or leave before finishing.

I hope we didn't disturb her too bad, we quickly snapped those pics and backed off. We had pretty good moonlite and we watched her for a while and she was still digging with her back flippers when we left...

I told the kids that was probably a once in a lifetime chance to actually get to see something like that...
