Sturgeon cought below Watts Barr dam

A friend of mine cought a Sturgeon last Friday below the Watts Barr dam. I say cought but actually got it out of a GILL NET. It was a little over 36 in. long. It was almost dead when he found it but stayed with it to try and keep it alive don't know if it made it or not. emoBang emoBang

I know people earn a living with these gill nets, but theres no way to eliminate certain species being caught in them. I for one think they should be banned. Not to mention the damage they do to trolling motors and outboards. They also never seem to be properly marked. We find them on Chickamauga every year and when the bass move up to spawn is when you see the most damage.
