But Im excited so Im going to share anyways. I had been saving up money in my "boat fund" for the past few months and in the last 2-3 days have bought a few things that make me happy. I bought a Minn Kota Maxxum 80lb, a dual pro pro series 3 bank charger (Ranger Edition), tires and rims (off a member on here, THANKS), and yesterday i bit the bullet and ordered a new stator for my motor. Ive been looking for a used one so i can stretch my budget but with family coming to town for Thanksgiving I didnt want to wait to get it fixed. So hopefully I can drop it off at Fish N Fun this weekend and have her all ready to go soon!! Going to change the trailer wheels and take the old trolling motor off hopefully when I get home today from work.

On another note, how hard is it to change fuel lines? Im assuming it depends on how hard it is to reach my gas tanks which are under my seats. But once i get to them, is it as easy as disconnecting and connecting lines, then threading to motor and doing the same? Or is there more to it?

Hopefully ill be back on the water by the end of the month!!!

Fuel lines are pretty easy most times unless they are extremely stiff from age, or in hard to reach areas. I often just cut the old one off, "tubing pliers" are great for this task and can be had cheap from Northern or Harbor freight. Installing new lines are as easy as cutting to appropriate length and sliding them on.

It isnt hard to change fuel lines on most boats. Before you pull the old line out tie a small line of some type, (I use the roll of what looks like chalk line) to one end of the old fuel line. Then wrap several wraps of electric tape to the end so the line wont slide off. Pull the old hose out of your boat. This should snake the string through your boat. Tie the end of the new hose to the line. Tape the line to the new hose just like you did the old one. Then simply pull the line and new hose back through your boat. It may help to have someone feed the hose to you. Not a big job at all. That is if you can get to the connection at your gas tank. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

I dont know why I thought this would go smoothly. I set everything up to take boat in tomorrow and my stator has been delivered so im pumped to get home and change my tires out and get everything ready to take him tomorrow morning. Well i get home and no package at the door. I call and they say its been left at my front door. It was "delivered" 30 minutes prior to me getting home, but nothing. So now an investigation has been filed and i dont have the part i need to get me back on the water (I hope). So now im delayed. Didnt change the wheels but did take off my old trolling motor before it got dark at like 6. But previous owner had broken a bolt flush to the trolling motor mount, so when i got the motor off there was about 1/4" of thread sticking out. Couldnt find my vice grips so i can unscrew it (lent to it the wife fir a DIY project at least a year ago, i think i need a new one. Haha). Im hoping to get new motor on tomorrow and new charger mounted in the bilge. still excited about the upgrades!

Trolling motor.......check
Is that a good angle? I mounted it that way to have it as close to center when deployed while also covering up the patch work I did to fill in the old holes. I plan on making a "bounce buster" type thing out of pvc soon.
