How often do you catch a Fish that has received a major injury that seemingly should have been fatal? I caught this Guy yesterday. This fish was damaged deep enough that I would have thought it would have damaged operation of it's Gills..

I have caught at least a dozen fish so far that have substantial injuries from Predator bites. Likely Gar Fish bites or more likely a Blue Heron Bite..

There is no way on Earth I would put one of these fish through further stress or Kill one of these tough Survivors after going through.

I have caught several Saltwater fish that had chunks bitten out of them. That is where you could more likely expect this type thing... But in freshwater, I am surprised at the numbers I catch and release.

Wow...something really took a notch out of it but looks like it's been dealing with it pretty well. Great that you released it - truly a survivor. emoApplause
It reminds me of the crappie that DK caught. The one that TWK had possibly taken a bite out of earlier. Thanks for sharing.
