Suzuki Problems Anyone?

I've got a buddy who has a 4-stroke Suzuki (90 HP I think).

He's had lots of trouble... multiple trips back to the dealer... sometimes minor problems, sometimes major. Most recently (Saturday) it locked up on him during a tournament, potentially knocking him out of a win. He's under warranty so it shouldn't cost him any money... but he's really lost faith in the engine.

I'm just wondering what experience others have had with Suzuki's... good or bad?

DOC1 has one he lives by. They seem to be very good engines, just not as popular as merc, omc, or yamaha.

I LOVE my 150 I only have about 50 hours on mine so far though.

I almost bought a new Bee back in 2002 with a Suzuki on it but passed at the time because there was no local service.

Thanks for the feedback ... I am certain that no matter what brand of anything you buy, a "lemon" comes off the line every now and then.

No problems out of mine yet Richard, Cheez has one also, both or ours are 115 HP.
