They just dont work! You have to go somewhere like Souther California to use one!;)

JK!- I like them. They are not a numbers bait but a bite is usually a keeper if you can jam the 6/0 hook home.
 
I don't have much confidence in large swim baits so they get very little of my limited fishing time. I will add that two of my friends, both excellent bass anglers, fished a small lake in Walker County this past Sunday. One used jigs, rattletraps, shaky head, jerkbaits, silver buddy's, and spinnerbaits. The other used swimbaits only.

It was a tough day for fishing. Strong winds, clear then cloudy skies. 2 small fish were caught on a silver buddy. Nothing on a 8" swimbait. The 8" swimbait was fished about 3 hours in different depths and presentations and finally replaced with a 4" swimbait in a shad color and profile. It was fished the same way and produced a 4 1/4 lb LM. It was the only keeper out of 7 hrs fishing.

They probably have their time and place, I just haven't found it yet.
