The TM on my boat was crashed yesterday during the USA Bassin Tx. and instead of having John Swallows replace the outer shaft for around $100.00, I'm thinking of replacing it with a new TM. The old TM is a MotorGuide 45 lb. 12/24 and the one I want is a MotorGuide 71lb. 24V.

I have four wires coming from my two batteries to the back of the plug and three wires coming from the TM. How would I wire up the new TM if it only comes with two wires?

Thanks,
Bill

BTW: I'll be listing the old TM on the used equipment for FREE once I have the new TM.

just like this

So is Nightrider allowed in your boat anymore???emoPoke emoPoke emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh

Lets put it this way NA, he is banned from the front deck from now on. The new TM cost me $585.00 shipped and I can't afford to replace it too.

Minner,

Thank for the drawing. The wires go to a circuit breaker after leaving the batteries, do I do anything there? Between you and ditchdoc666, I hope to get it up and running by next weekend.

Could have happened to anyone.... I'm sure he feels bad. Sorry you had to lay out some scratch. We've all had those types of "things" happen. Hang in there buddy. Hope the new one is BETTER than ever!!!

I'm over it now, it's a new day. I should get the new TM from Fedex today. I talked to John Swallows of ETM at the fishing show last night and he wants the old TM to fix and sell as a used one in his shop. I have no idea what it's worth though.

The new TM is mounted and running thanks to you guys. I just have to upgrade the circuit breaker to a 50 amp instead of the 30 I'm using now.
