My friends directional indicator is not lined up with the foot on his 82lb motorguide anymore. About a 1/4 turn off... anyone know how to get it back straight?

I had the same problem a couple years back. When you take the top off, look at the 2 screws that hold the bracket that holds the indicater and pulley to the housing. On mine the plastic that the screws attached to was broke. All I did was drill a pilot hole then got longer screws and poof it was fixed. Maybe this will help.

Simple fix. It happened to me before. I took it to a technician and they looked at me like I was crazy. All you have to do is press down firmly on the arrow cap on the top of the trolling motor and turn it the direction you want it to go. You will feel it clicking as you turn it. When it is lined up where you want it to stay you are done. I know it seems simple, but this is the truth. I thought if I turned it by hand it would break something, but I guess I was wrong. I guess you could take the head apart, but this was so simple and a professional did it, so that is good enough for me.

Bustin is correct. A buddy of mine had this happen. A friend turned his indicator 180 degrees out as a joke. We went fishing and he was fighting his TM all over the place. I asked him what the &*#@ he was doing. He said the TM wouldn't go the way he was pointing it. I finally went up to the bow and looked at it, pressed down and turned it back right. Found out later who the culprit was- a NASTY but FUNNY prank!!!

I guess I gave the wrong answer. But mine was broke not just pointing in the wrong direction.

Imagine how I felt taking it to a technician. On top of that, I drove about an hour to get there.
