T rig bullet weights - new question - pegs

Enjoyed the colored weights conversation so here's another question. Do you peg your weights and if so, any particular reason or circumstances? I used to use toothpicks to peg weights 12" - 18" above my hook but haven't tried that technique in years.

I agree with Pointer on this one. Pegging the weight in heavy cover helps get you bait thru the cover efficiently, but no other time
do I peg it.

Something else I discovered . . . I used to fish a 12" worm deep in the summer on a 5/0 - 3/4 oz. football head hook. When the fish
came to the top, they used the weighted hook as leverage to throw it. (They will do the same thing with a big crankbait). Switched to a
traditional T-rig setup, 5/0 hook with a 3/4 oz. bullet sinker (not pegged). Problem solved. The weight slides away from the fish when
they come to the top and that leverage is taken away from them.
