I went to a home yesterday that had a ADT system in it with signs and stickers on the windows. The young lady that met me there told me it had not worked in some time and that the home had recently been broke into. Upon walking about the home the crocks had wedged up a window on the back blind side of the home right where an ADT sticker was. I guessed they figured it was not working or a fake. She went on to tell me the home had been in her family for some time and had set empty for about a year. Upon talking to a neighbor on the phone the neighbor informed her that someone had been over there several times and they just thought they were living there. This home was out in the country. When she and another family member went over there they saw the home had been gutted. emoEek As they were standing there waiting for the police to show up someone came around the corner and started to pull into the home's drive way in a small truck. Upon seeing them standing there they backed up quickly and hauled. They jumped into their car and followed them until they saw them pull into another home about a mile away.

They then went back to the home and met up with the police. Upon going inside the home appeared to be gutted. Most of the furniture was gone, most of the home items were gone, even most of the clothing had been taken and most everything was just gone. emoMad Finger prints were taken by the police and then the police went to the home where the two had seen the two people in the truck go to. They arrested the one who owned the truck and a second is being looked for. The finger prints in the home had his set with them. Several other prints have been taken and they are looking for those folks also. It would appear that these people had broke in to the home, realized no one was living there and took up living there themselves. emoHoppingmad On the outside all looked normal and no one around thought anything about it. They were apparently taking items out of the back of the home where no one could see them and then selling them to support their habit. She said the police believe them to be meth heads.

I have never seen a home so completely gutted. You would have thought they had moved and left the beds to sleep in while they tried to sell the home. Unreal!!!! If there was a good note the appliances were still there in the kitchen. I was at one last year where a home for sell had been broke in to and the neighbors luckily called the police when some people were over there working. The police got to that home just in the nick of time to catch three crocks about to drive away with all the kitchen appliances.

The bad side is due to the low life that did it the chances of recovery on any of their stuff is extremely small. That stuff is just gone, they may serve some time in jail for what has been done but these poor folks learned the hard way it is just not good to leave a home empty without some form of security. emoGeezer
