Hit upper Watts Bar again tonight after work for 3 hours, ended up with 7 stripers but biggest was only 8lbs today - my wife was supposed to meet me but couldnt' make it, so didn't take time to do the solo picture thing. Got one 3lb smallmouth and lost a big largemouth right before I left, it came straight at the boat and by the time I caught up it was about 10 feet away, came 2 feet out of the water and threw my big swimbait back at me - it was a 6+ pounder. Everything caught on swimbaits. Had one boat move in on me after I caught 3 in a row, they proceded to drift and motor back up over where I was casting - they immediately hooked 3 small stripers and a nice smallmouth probably 4lbs, which of course went into the cooler. I politely said, "you gotta be kidding me!" After several more long distance casts with the swimbait they putted on down the river. The bite went south for the next hour but finally managed a few more. There are some big smallmouth in right now but I'm afraid a lot of them are going into the frying pan, along with a lot of stripers that could be in the double digits in another year...

Awesome report. Sorry those guys were jerks. Makes you wonder about the fish that were in the cooler that you didn't see. Hard to say sometimes what people are capable of. Get your wife down there.... we need to see some big smallies!
