Can someone tell me a little about these three port holes on this tempest plus prop? One hole has a plastic or rubber groumet in it and the other two has nothing... Need some help on this...
The holes are in there so it will come out of the hole better and improve the hole shot of your boat. You can put in or take out the rubber grommets to suit your need on any given boat.

The holes allow exhaust to go out around the fins of the prop causing it to slip and get the motor on up in the power band before hooking up really good. This causes the rpm's to build and gives the motor more horse power for the hole shot.

Good question & good answer. Knew they were there but never gave them any thought just holes. Now I know. Thanks I can't wait to impress someone with my knowage about about props. Good post.
Dead on Fisherpal. You can get those things in two or three different sizes to get the spin you desire. Once the prop bites the holes serve zero purpose. Just in case anyone may get to thinking they will help top end, they don't.
