Heres an article from wrcbtv that talks about this boat. Is this the same touring boat they were talking about that could travel up to 60mph?

Associated Press - June 11, 2008 1:25 PM ET

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Aquarium's newest offering is a high-speed catamaran that will begin educational tours of the Tennessee River Gorge this summer.

The 70-passenger vessel will launch from Chattanooga Pier beginning June 27.

Aquarium spokesman Thom Benson says the tours are an extension of the aquarium's educational mission. A naturalist will lead the 90 minute trips.

The 2,000-foot deep gorge begins about five miles downstream from downtown Chattanooga and is home to many varieties of plants and animals.

Hogger...I checked out the website for this boat and the specs. are amazing. It has 4-Caterpillar C-18 engines and two 400-gallon fuel tanks! And I cringe when I have to fill up my pontoon boat...lol. Good grief!!!

two 400 gallon tanks! One of those tanks would fill my truck up for a year. I think they should leave well enough alone, the only reason i can see the aquarium doing such a thing is $$$. I wonder if the gatlinburg aquarium will start giving guided racecar tours in the smokies now? Its a natural beauty too ya know. emoCrazy
