Does anyone know where I can find a map of legal duck hunting areas on the TN river impoundments? Was able to find a great map of the N. Alabama WMA's on the web, but TN has been harder to find. I just don't want to mess up and end up hunting illegally on Hiwassee Refuge, etc. Is the refuge clearly marked? Again, not looking for anyone's spots, just want to know where I can legally set up. Also, is hunting allowed on the islands in Nickajack and just below the dam? Thanks for any help.

The area's the flood in Tenn. were set up for draw hunts this year or last, Rogers Creek, Candy's Creek, Yellow Creek, etc. The Refuge is from the river entrance at 60 bridge to the bridge on 58 HWY. I think that Johnson Bottoms was also set to drawing a blind. Williams Island is not huntable I think on the island. You could hunt the edge and long as you don't get on the island. Don't quote me on all of this but I'm thinking this is all correct.

woods Res has duck hunting. Another Top spot in the state is Harrmons creek next to nathan bedford state park close to new johnsonville TN.
You can never go wrong at reel foot lake.

Thanks guys, I finally found the map of the Hiwassee refuge, that cleared up a lot. What is the story on Oates Island in Nickajack and Burns Island just below the Nickajack dam?

You can hunt on Burns it is "owned" by TWRA although they don't do anything as far as maintenance. Plus you'd have to leave someone at the boat to keep the locals from stealling it while you're hunting.

You can hunt both the islands you mentioned above on Nick. You can hunt "around" any island anywhere on the river. Just know what you are doing when you step onto the bank and you should be fine. Buy coot and bluebill decoys and you will have a ball! GOOD LUCK!!!
