Looks like we made a statement last night! I just don't think it was the statement we wanted to make. The offense was totally out of sync, the kicking game sucked, and the defense pulled a 2007 and just layed down in the second half. Gonna be a long year!

I feel your pain! I think this may be more of a rebuilding year than I am used to as well. Sorry bout a tough loss at the end for you guys.

The defense didn't lay down. They were put in horrible situations the whole second half by that piece of crap offense. Of course with 2 minutes on the clock and the game on the line Chavis ( D- coordinator) always goes to his great prevent D, and we all know that's easy to score on. All new coordinators, yet the same ol Vols.

One thing about it, we were not predictable. we threw it every 2nd and 3rd down when we could have run for6 yards a play. It is called getting to cute. They knew they could not stop our run game, we knew it, thye knew it, everyone did.

I thought CLawson called an alright game. we have no QB or one that is mighty fragile right now. Throwing the ball very poorly and terrible mechanics. We might see BJ COleman playing pretty soon.

Brandon warren is a flop so far he dropped 2. Crompton could not throw it and good ole foster was there to lay it on the ground as usual!!!

And it is good to see Chavis still calls cover 2 everytime we get a lead. There was nothing hard about what UCLA did. thye just stopped throwing it deep and dropped it underneath. Our LB's do not cover, never have and we are sitting in a 2 deep zone preventing the big play. They basically ran the passing concept out of the same set and we had no answer for it! Way to coach them up Chavis!

Typical vols football let them hang in there till the fourth quarter and run the prevent D. Had way to many opportunities to put the game away but did nothing. Ran the ball great opted to throw on 2nd
and 3rd down. Crompton looked terrible, Overthrown or underthrown receivers, just looked unprepared
We should have won that game 35 to 7. Fosters fumble was way to costly and Lincolns missed overtime fieldgoal was a joke, The 50 yarders were tough kicks but he should be able to make those. we need to put more emphasis on special teams and run the ball more. A untested QB shouldnt put the ball in the air 41 times. If we dont fix these problems Florida,Georgia and Alabama especially will kill us. Im a die hard Big Orange fan but this is gonna be a long season.

Just wait til GA, AL, FL, and SC get ahold of them Vols. By the way....Is it true that Oklahoma suited up the tuba section from the band for the second half of UTC's game? Talk about a mis-match!

as long as we have chavis around we can forget about any defense, how in the world can you let a team pick you apart with the same playes over and over, does he not know how to adjust.and i dont believe alot of blame should be put on the offensive line, heck if you know the qb cant hit the receivers just stack the line and shut down the run and blitz like crazy.

Since I am a Vol or former Vol fan, I might as well tick everyone off.

This isn't a criticism, just an observation. Vol coaches were trying to make a folk hero out of Crompton on his first start. It didn't work.

QB might be really good in practice, but when you overthrow the receivers by a good 5 yards on one play, and then bounce the ball 3 yards short of them on the next play, it is hard for the great receivers to make a play.

To my knowledge, Tennessee threw the ball on every 2nd down regardless of how many yards that were gained on 1st down. I don't think that 2 running plays were called in a row. If the QB was checking off to a pass, then he needs to be coached up some more.

In my opinion, they were saving all the motion plays that they have been talking about for weeks for Georgia, Florida, Auburn and Alabama. This is Tennessee's sneaky way of getting those teams over confident when the Vols come up on their schedule.

UCLA definitely wanted the game much more than Tennessee did. That much is obvious.

It really doesn't matter how little yards the other team gets during a game, if the defense folds like a lawn chair when the game is on the line. UCLA, with 1 timeout and 70 yards away, still managed to drive the ball down Tennessee's throat. It happens all the time when good teams play the Vols. Chavis must go. I have been saying that for years and I won't be back on the Vol bandwagon until that arogant jerk leaves or gets run off.

Don't know what happened to the kicker. He was much better last year. You shouldn't be missing 34 yard FG's in OT when the game is on the line.

Finally, I got sick when I read one comment from a player from Tennessee. "At least it wasn't a conference game." This game really wasn't important to the Vols. Didn't matter that they had a national audience. Only Mississippi State and Tennessee were embarrassed this past weekend in the SEC.

Finally #2. I think that Tennessee thought that they had the game in the bag before the kickoff and Fullmer likes to play these close games and not play to win big. He will get embarrassed a few more times this year. Do you think that Saban, Meyer, Richt or Tuberville will show any mercy? Nada. This thing could get ugly before it's over.

i agree with you 100% drumking, especially the part about chavis leaving, look how much the defense has declined every year for the past 5 or 6 years.what is it going to take for ut to run him off.

Even as a Bama fan, I really hated to see the Vols go down to a PAC-10 team. You're all overlooking something though ... orange is feminine enough as it is, but orange britches? C'mon? They need to burn those things and get some of their swagger back!

If it helps to lighten the mood, I'll share the best sign hoisted behind Herbstreit, Corso, and Fowler during Gameday on Saturday morning by an anonymous fan: "I could start in the Big 10!" Love it ...

out coached! UCLA came out at halftime and improved on every mistake and weakness while the vols came out and guess what played worse in every position!

the vols absolutely STINK this year. there offence, well lets just say MY schools 8th grade D can sack the qb. kicker is crap, and they still got the same old defense from last year. my prediction for the vols ending season: 6-6 no bowl game and they get STOMPED by vandy
