I was headed to the 175 tournament last Saturday morning when I crossed the creek bridge on Hamill Rd. the truck went to shaking and I rolled down the window and heard a loud knocking sound. I pulled over and popped the hub cap off my driver side trailer tire, and found 2 studs broke which were in the cap and the other three lugs were almost backed completely off the stud. I was only able to tighten one lug. I prayed and continued to the boat ramp at 5mph. And less to the ramp. I made it to the ramp at the tail end of blast off, which I was supposed to be boat #2. My partner asked me, "what are we gonna do", and I said were going fishing, I'll worry about this after the weigh-in.
After the weigh in I asked Tom if they had any studs at the shop. He told me they might and Tom Sr. Took me to the shop and he just so happened to have just 5 of the right studs and loaned me a hammer to use. Then me and my partner went back and fixed the trailer. So I thank you Tom Kizziah for helping me out when you didn't have to! And I also want to thank all the other fellow fishermen that were willing to help. Even though were competing against each other, it's great to know that were willing to help each other out.
