Can't say enough great things about Carter, Ty, and the guys at Nichols Marine. I heard a rather loud noise on Wednesday night, not sure what it was but had an idea it was not good. I took it to Nichols on thursday morning and found out the compressor was blown. I also found out they were on back order, and it would be two weeks before one was available. Thursday night I got a call and they told me if I would bring my boat in the morning they had found me a compressor. Less than 36 hours and I'm back on the water. I don't know what to say except THANKS!!!!

Carter is good people. I have never had a problem with the service I have received from them. They know how to treat their customers.

You must be pretty special to get any marine dealer to give you that fast service, most of them could care less whether your boat sits in their back lot for a month. Maybe I will try Nichols next time I need repairs.

5 days mine will have been there a month and i told carter the big rigs will take presedent over mine he said no they don't I guess you just porved me right & I all ready give 800.00 oh well hopfully I'll get it back fixed this week

see I was called Tuesday my boat was ready Butt there was a noise they wanted me to here so I get there bad sound was the water pump replace like i ask No .So dummy me went ahead and payed for the work that was done so hopfully they would get back on it I was told theywould be the next morning I went to nichols thursday afternoon nothing had been done now knowing this I shouldn't have to pay no more for them to fix my lower uint its been there 4-9-2012

yeah thanks guys

and motor setting out in the weather with the cowl off that can't be good looks Like I'll probably have electric esuse now
this really gets under my skin this is so wrong

Not trying to start any trouble just wanted to tell them thanks publicly. From what I hear if you have the part my problem was a fairly common one and was simply a bolt on issue. Maybe your problem was more in depth than mine. I've had lower unit trouble before and it took a while. I've blown power heads before and it took a while as well. I wish I had taken them to Carter but I did not I used another dealer. All I know is I will never do business any where else but Nichols Marine. Thanks guys I really appreciate it.

no trouble I went there this morning and they had got it done replaced water pump check bearings said all is good. I hope so.
how many bolt on got done before mine even got looked at when mine was there 3 days worth I know of how . I' ve known carter for 30 yrs I don,t like what happened in my case but we all know --it happens this time to me. gettin my boat back makes it all better. thats all I have to say

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has the same opinion. I couldn't even get a well known dealer in town and i might add that they are very well liked by most to order OEM parts for my boat. I will not name the dealer but I will not go there again. A couple of years agao they also let my boat sit in the back for a month for a water pump replacement and kept saying they were too busy. I finally just became frustrated and picked it up. It is good to hear that Nichols is doing it right... Kudos to Nichols.

You are exactly right epaul. The marine dealers take care of the $40k tournament boats before they will look at a $2k boat. It took me almost 2 months to get mine back from a local dealer, it took him two days to fix it. Took it to the lake and it still wouldn't run so it took another three weeks to get it back the second time. You can here a story like this about any dealer in town and it is always the lesser expensive boat owners.

Damn OptiMax compressors!! The new ones are supposed to be right.
Ty told me that with the old ones they were seeing 5 or 6 a year and now it's 1 or 2 every couple years.
Carter and Ty have been a big help to me and I didn't even buy it from them!
I've got a box of blown up parts in my garage.

I have alot to say about how I was treated, so with lower unit in worse shape than when I took it to them, I have it back with my money and I won't use them ever again.
