My latest copy of Bassmaster magazine rated all of the lakes in the country. The Chick is number TWO in the country. They noted the monster bass and the two 42# plus tournament bags last year in CBA. Proud of our lake, but shudder to think what even more attention to it will be like!

Look on the bright side. We are next to a great lake, and can fish 24/7/365. The visitors have to pick when they can make the trip, and hope it is not raining, too hot, cold, crowded, where did the fish go etc.

Working at a school it’s pretty great to go out on a day like today and the lake is glass and the parking lot is almost empty! It’s great to live here.

I'm sure the big orgs will be slamming our lake next year on there tours. TWA better keep- a- stocking!

As I see it this just means Chickamauga is AS GOOD as it has EVER BEEN. I’m enjoying the NEW IMPROVED lake. Great BASS and great CRAPPIE fishing. It’s only human nature to go where hundreds of 10lb plus bass are caught. In earlier years people flocked to Florida. Looks like it’s Chattanooga/Dayton and Lake Chickamauga’s turn now. Remember it is only happening because the fishing here IS SO GOOD! In my book that is a good thing, but I’m a glass-half-full kind of guy, and I remember what it used to be like to try to catch a limit of crappie on the Chick or catch a big bass. Enjoy it.

Fish at night and no worries on the crowds. In the last two weeks, I've seen maybe 10 boats after midnight on the lower end down to the dam.

I’ll need working lights on my boat for that, won’t I?

Sure do, red/green on front and all around white on the back. You can only use a spotlight/headlights briefly, not continuously. The only time you can legally turn off your light (I think) is when you are anchored up and even then you have to keep the back light on

Sorry, Rusty, I was making a joke about the state of my boat, which is a restoration project (1986 Winner). I’m beginning to work on the lights, but I’m starting from square one with electrical knowledge. I’m not sure there’s anything hot on the harness except for my ignition (which Im happy about!).
