I believe a tract of land I am hunting has a part of the Cumberland trail going through it. My concern is that this trail will disrupt the hunting in the area when hikers pass through.

I am not even sure that this section of trail has been used at all. There's very good signs of deer activity along this section of trail and I am wanting to hunt in this area. I would hate to be hunting and have hikers walk through..but I am thinking that if this trail was being used alot by hikers there wouldn't be any deer sign around it.

This land I am hunting on is apart of the Cumberland Hunting club and has been leased to us for hunting.

So, if anyone has any insight on what I should do or have any knowledge about the Cumberland trail I would appreciate some feed back.

Thanks in advance :)

Ran into the same thing up on bakewell mountain. As far as i know the land that was purchased by the state is 'technicaly' supposed to be no hunting. I never had a problem though, just dont hang your stand on state property lol. As far as deer movement, i wouldnt worry about deer being spooked. As long as your in a good crossing area, it wont matter. My .02

Thanks for the reply Hoggerhead. I am certain that my stand is well within the property lines of the hunting lease. The trail in question goes right through it though...(which is what I am close to).

I pulled up some Cumberland trail maps and the trails that they have marked out don't seem to go where I am at. Maybe this is just an old miners trail??

Dmille, I sent ya a pm back. :)

Just talked to Andy and we are both in agreement that the trail in question is NOT apart of the Cumberland trail emoDance . I want to publicly thank Andy and Dmille for taking the time to help me ensure that I am 100% legal when I am out in the woods. Take care and I will see all around here and out in the feild! :)

Sincerely,
Luke Clarke
