I fished the TN/Coosa with a buddy of mine and we decided to lock through to the G. We fished all over Mud creek and the bite was off! We only managed 4 keepers for 10.25#. we caught a few shorts as well. All keepers came on 3/4 oz. traps in 4-5ft. The water was higher and much clearer than the previous 2 weekends, 57-60 degrees. Although we were disapointed in the bite we had a fun day and a long ride! Congrats to those who brought in good sacks! Lots of fat healthy fish.

Churly, I downsized to a 1/4oz trap on Saturday from 1/2oz last weekend and ended up with a lot more fish and a lot less weeds. I was also expecting to slam them in Mud Creek only to find that the bass didn't want to cooperate.

Well last weekend Davo and I stayed out of that particular part of Mud thinking the fish had been beaten up, but those who stayed in caught nice fish. Well, this weekend I figured heck lets try it. There were fish in there they were just very scattered, and we were pressed for time. It was a bit tough but it beat working! i know some other areas down river I am looking forward to hitting soon as this warm trend travels down the lake to the other creeks it will spread some of these boats out. Poor ol Mud Creek has been hammered for a month now.

We fished a creek further down lake on Saturday as well. Found a grass bed with lots of boats around, caught a 3.5lb and three that were 2lbs on cranks and traps. We left the area to go exploring, first time on the lake, and didnt have a bite for a long time (was thinking how bad of an angler I was).

After being thickheaded we finally went back to the morning spot and caught a 3.5lb, two more 2lbs, and this beauty of a bass that weighed 7.3lbs on the digital.

Water temps were 57-58, caught em all in 4-5ft of water. I can't wait to go back !!

did u finish in the top?

In the top of Nickajack dam as we came through the locks.

To answer your question...NO! We got our butts handed to us, but it was a fun trip, and I'd be lying if I told you I didn't learn something.
