Had a good group show up this morning at the Chick to fish the five hour dog fight. There was 24 boats and I paid four places and two big bass pots. Had several three fish bags weighed in but the summer has sure begun, the weights were way down. This was a 3 fish weigh in.

1st. Louie Bartenfield and Tracy Henderson....9.80 lbs.

2nd. Dan Spinale and Josh Bates...................8.50 lbs.

3rd. Cory Nickols and Ram Jack.....................8.21 lbs.

4th. Churly....solo.........................................7.76 lbs.

1st place Big bass, Cory and Ram Jack...........4.30 lbs.

2nd place Big Bass, WetWillie and Jmax..........3.91 lbs.

Paid out a total of $600.00 bucks for a little fun on the water. emoThumbsup
I'd like to thank everyone for coming and Flip for being our weigh master, Al for being the money man and XLDVee for helping me with the weigh in and announcing the winners. emoToast Had a great time and we had no issues or clitches, so all was good. All bass were alive when released but I did see one floating but it was trying to go when we left. emoGrouphug Jmax

Great turn out this am!! Thanks for putting it on Jim and congrats to all that placed. It was a beautiful morning and the fish cooperated for the most part. It was great seeing everyone and we need to do this again soon. Al

Had a good time fishing but we came up alittle short on weight. Went back out after the tourny and caught some good fish. Let`s do it again..

Good job Louie. Shoot me a pm or give me a call, I have been on some good fish up on the Chick. Got em pegged up there right now. I caught some big fish on the down river stuff you showed me last fall. Down river from the bluffs. Saw Big Louie on Chatsworth highway. He was driving a sewing machine? LOL. Tell him and Shelby I said howdy.

Report:?

Decided very late friday night to fish the tournament today. Haven't been on Chickamauga in a couple of wks so I went in hoping the shad spawn would be in full swing and hoped to get a limit early w/ blades and rattle baits. We located 2 areas where the shad were spawning heavily and found lots of small 3lb and under class fish gorging themselves on the spawners..... Thanks to the cloud cover and wind this morning the shad were active until about 830 and allowed us to catch 30+ fish w/ about half being keeper size up to 3.50lbs..... When the shad decide to leave their spawning areas the bite was gone as well. If you're looking for the shad spawn focus on grass mixed w/ rock or hard bottoms, very shallow 1-5ft..... Grass is the most important thing to me. Deep bite sucked for us, was unable to cull deep..... Thats the short of it. Enjoyed the day.
