Haven't put up a post since March when my aorta ruptured so bear with me as I may be a little rusty(like some hooks in my jig box). The day started off great, while drinking my morning coffee I discovered I had won $70 on the GaLottery...about 10:30 I got a call from Blake@EastTnLED that my other dimmer control switch for my new uv-blacklightshad come in and he would actually be in East Ridge to deliver it instead of me having to drive to Soddy to pick it up...only took me 30 minutes to install it instead of the 3 hours it took on the first one. Just had to go fishing to try it out and had a great evening of crappie fishing the lower end which is coming alive the past couple of weeks. We put in at the construction zone(HBSP)@8pm and checked a couple of roadbeds in Waconda Bay to no avail, our game plan quickly turned to checking some docks in the area that we haven't fished for a while(giving them a well deserved rest). First stop, caught 7 really nice 12inch crappienot close to the dock but out from the dock in 8fow on the edge of the grass line. Went a good ways downriver and fished a deep dock in 24fow, again the fish were gathered away from the dock on a drop into 32fow and these were bigguns...I had 7 Quality Keepersalmost on consecutive casts till one pulled off haflway back to the boat and spooked what was left in that school. About that time the fog started building up on top of the water so we ran on back and loaded out at 1;30am being the only vehicle around the whole facility...a real ghost town! Water temps were down to 76.8*,I caught all my fish on a Cajun Cricket and epaul was hooking up nicely on a Tuxedo Shad with some spike-it on the belly. We totaled out back at the house with 16 fish and all but 2 over 12inches with one right on the T.A.R.P. line. These speckled beauties are fat and sassy and full of piss and vinegar...gonna be a good fall bite and a great Spring Spawn...so says the maddog! emoTeacher
