Come on!!!! emoScratch No LOVE for the VOLS? VOLS WIN and WIN BIG!!!!!!!! emoSmile

Great game! Looking forward to next year. How long has it been since they were competitive in every game? The losses were tough, but they were close.

I agree. I think we should have only lost one of our games this year. I blame coaching for the other losses. I do think Butch learned to stop taking his foot of the gas. He and the team learned a hard lesson about finishing games.

I thought it was a good finish to the season. Going into the year I would have said 9-4 would be great progress and would have been very happy with that. The way in which we lost 3 of the 4 games it makes it difficult to be satisfied with the outcome. I totally agree that coaching killed us in the OK and FL games. We got a big lead and sat on it. I believe today was some evidence that the coaching staff has grown and learned from their mistakes as we were very aggressive with the lead. The bottom line is the east is probably going to be down again next year and anything short of Atlanta is unacceptable. 2016 is the year... We don't need more bricks we need big wins and the ability to close out games that we play well enough to win. Can't wait for next season. Go Vols VFL!

I totally agree but what everyone doesn't realize that as long as they win 8 games and a bowl game the university doesn't lose any revenue and that is really all they want. It has never been about winning Championships !!!! Maybe if they put a crimson stripe and a small A on their uniforms the rest of us that wants a national title shot might get one. Instead of everyone getting a trophy just for competing, to me second place is still the first LOSER !!!!

If you ever see me in anything that looks like it has anything to do with the Alabama Tide, I was dead when some fool put it on me. If you aren't excited about this TN team and next year, you need to check your pulse or you aren't a Vol. GO VOLS!!!

Been waiting 10 years now so far. I rest my case !
10 Years? Man that ain't crap. Seven of the last 10 years have been the worst in TN history. After you have been a true Vol fan for over 50 years you can get back to me. 10 years that is funny. I have TN T-shirts twice as old as that. emoBang emoLaugh If you are basing your knowledge of the Volunteer tradition on the last 10 years you need to do some major investigating.

Well,I'll see your 50 years and raise you 5 more plus 1 UT graduate and full Alumni but you know I can research for the last 50 years and will not take all my fingers and toes to count Championships but as we all say maybe next year.

Been there done all that. I rounded down to 50 years. I am 56 years old and have been a Vol fan as soon as I knew what football was. It appeared to me by your comments of the last 10 years, like that was a lifetime, that you were either a non Vol, a kid or new to the Vol fan base. If you have been watching the Vols for 55 years you should know better. UT football pays all the bills at Rocky Top. In my lifetime it has never lost money. As for the Championships playing in the SEC and winning Championships is as tough as it gets. Kiffin and Dooley nearly killed us. Butch has us close to where we need to be. The Vols should be playing for the SEC title in 2016. This team has came a long long way in the last 3 years. I am a VFL and proud of it. I am not really sure how you drew you conclusion that just not loosing money and going to a bowl is all that UT cares about. I know this VOL wants and expects much much more. I'm done. GO VOLS

I think we will learn a lot about what we have in Butch next year. There are a number of key things a coach much do very well to succeed at the highest level and I believe Butch does most of those exceptionally well. He is an excellent recruiter, he has done an amazing job bringing great culture both on and off the field to the program, but his game day management has been subpar in a number of games. Like I said earlier I believe the bowl game was his best work to date from a coaching perspective. He call aggressively with the lead which has lacked most of the year in big games. While we blew out Northwestern anytime you are playing a top 15 ranked team it's a big game. I'm super excited about next year and hope that he can make the calls to put our team in the best place to win close games because that didn't happen this year in 2-3 games that we lost and should have won.

I hope things are good next year but I'm skeptical. As long as Dobbs is QB they will be limited. He's not an accurate passer and I think they are afraid to let him throw it late in the game when its close. Next year will answer a lot of questions.

No Dobbs isn't a pocket passer but would you rather have a non-mobile QB that is accurate... I wouldn't. I totally agree with you that he isnt going to thread the needle down the field all the time but when you take into account what he does with his legs as well as his ability to make some throws and I do think Dobbs can lead the team at an elite level.

Dobbs has two other things that makes him good. Heart and the fact that he's a winner. I'm not a fan of his passing either, but he's earned my respect big time.

I agree that Dobbs is not laser accurate passing down field. But, I have watched a lot of football and played some in my life. The QB for Oregon was not nearly as accurate has he looked. His receivers wanted the ball. He tossed it up several times and they went up and got it. A great receiver QB look much better than he is. What Dobbs lacks in passing skill he more than makes up for with his legs. Like someone else said he is a gamer and hates losing. I will take that over a good pocket QB and day. I am very very excited about this coming season. I hope we can get some help catching the ball.
