My friend Brian is fairly new to the crappie game and just bought a boat recently and wants to learn to really fish. I asked
him to come out to the Forgotten Child Fund TX last Sunday and start working on his fishing. He came with his son Will
and though I tried to give him pointers on where to go they didn't weigh in any fish. This made me mad for them so
I called him up today and we met to do some serious fishing.

I knew it was going to be trouble when we were the only truck/boat on the ramp. The water was rolling with waves and
it was crazy windy but we went out. We fished a heavy dose of docks along with bluffs and a few blow downs. We had
a good time although we got soaked out there during heavy rain. We caught a lot of crappie and I hope I helped him
for the next TX on Nov 2nd for the Chattanooga Crappie Club. We ended up with 20 tournament-type fish in the live
well and threw back at least another dozen legal fish (photo attached of the 20 we caught and released). BG Outlaw
Special Baby Shad in 1/32oz and 1/16oz is all we threw depending on the depth and wind. He caught a lot today
and I hope he can show his son Will some of what he learned and fish the next TX - of course I don't want him to
beat me though. He did figure out he liked my rods better than his, stiffer and easier to cast.
I'm thinking he will replace what he has soon.

Yea I don't blame you. I've taken out a couple of our members to try and help them. They didn't do to bad this past tournament weighing in 5 keepers

Brian and Will were still winners. Fish or no fish, just bringing a toy made us all winners....... If you teach as good as you fish, they'll bring some in next go round.

I'm glad you got to go fishing (a rare thing this last year) and sharing your spots and knowledge is awesome too. You're a good guy and I hope next tournament Brian and Will catch a boatload of fish!

Great job, Brian. I love taking newbies out fishing. I have a couple on my bucket list. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
